Description

At the beginning of the 16th century, Louis II of Amboise entrusted the ornamentation of the ceiling of Saint Cecilia to Italian painters from Modena and Bologna. The site lasts between 1509 and 1512. The frescoes of the vault form the the largest and oldest whole of Italian Renaissance painting in France (97m long and 28m wide). They are conceived as an immense blue sky , on which develops a decoration of foliage, arabesques, candelabra, frame of scenes with pastoral content. Au début du XVIème siècle, Louis II d'Amboise confie l'ornementation du plafond de Sainte Cécile à des peintres italiens originaires de Modène et de Bologne. Le chantier dure entre 1509 et 1512. Les fresques de la voûte forment l'ensemble de la peinture renaissance italienne le plus vaste et le plus ancien de France (97m de long sur 28 m de large). Elles sont conçues comme un ciel immense et bleu, sur lequel se développe un décor de rinceaux, d'arabesques, de candélabres, cadre de scènes au contenu pastoral. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300

I am an amateur photographer ... so I make myself all the work I want on my images. Sometimes I prefer straighten the perspective to obtain a more pleasing image. For this one I choosed to not do that...

Un superbe point de vue, Jean-Claude ! Les couleurs devaient être vraiment flamboyantes à l'époque ! Avec ces ors et ces bleus, on se croirait transporté à l'intérieur d'une enluminure des Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, antérieures d'un siècle à cette ornementation...
