Among her many ideas for improving business was to return to selling food, sandwiches at lunch and afternoon tea all featuring local ingredients and suppliers. She had actually prepared a business plan when trying to convince Ryan of the idea. Hailey took the plan to the local bank where the loan officer was so impressed he immediately offered to fund half the start up costs. [There is no limit on what pubs can charge for food and pubs that have feathered an afternoon tea service have often found it their main source of profit. Leslie is on the right track as a business woman!] Hailey knew she could rely on the captain to keep an eye on things. A rather satisfactory outcome to an overnight visit.
