What is this crap, you ever think you might offend someone with this? Well you did. I'm putting in a request to get this taken down. There is absolutely no need for it, and the only purpose this image can serve is to offend someone.

As far as the pant's go change the hi-light color to something darker to help get rid plastic look. also you should look through the free stuff and try and find some textures.

Technically it's not all that great but as far as being pulled off the gallery I vote to veto that. Just becasue it offends some does not mean that it offends all. You did not breach any gallery rules so i believe it should stay.

You have successfully made the effort imitating Jesus in a very disrespectful and obscene manner. So what's the intriquing message behind this? Or is this a pure ignorance?

I find this a rather interesting concept, and, considering the title, I am certainly not offended. I see at least two rather clear messages in the image – if you feel offended, I think you should actually look at the pic and think a little; not just «automatically» feel offended because this is not «your» image of Jesus. Believe it or not, thinking is good for you. Seeing things from a different perspective is as well.

The image has a lot of room for improvement technically. A good place to start would be textures, textures, textures. You should also have a closer look at the lighting on the cross – it looks as though it's falling backwards and is about to give poor Jesus a rather nasty hit between the legs.

3Dparadigm So what's the intriquing message behind your images? Whats the intriguing messages behind my images? This person is a beginner and there is no need to call them ignorant in an attempt to hide your ignorance.Uy ht keep up the good work and don't let the negative people get you down. In fact I think you should post an update.

As I said for his first, I guess someone can be offended someone can find it interesting, someother could love it... I think the only way to prevent this kind of reaction is a little preview with explicit mention about the subject... As for the picture, I think eyes give a "Barbie-Looks" to the character. I love the smoke effect on the cigarette. The legend at the bottom isn't easy to read.

I think you have a great start, here, and I agree that I'd like to see you develop the image more. You might try posting within some of the forums (the Carrara/RDS forum is very supportive of works in progress) for less heated and more technical responses before you surface in the general gallery. Whether or not people like it, sometimes art pushes buttons; that's what art is about, and this image is art.

Well seems we got a controversial image here. Yes, I agree it's offensive. I don't agree on taking the picture down. Because it's still Art. on a techinical aspect, I agree we some of the more open folks it does need work. he does look a bit BARBIsh. like a plastic doll. I am also curious as to the meaning behind it also. I dont think it was done to purposley insult or degrade. . .(this is my 2 cents ;-))

Personally, I laughed my butt off first by seeing the image and then reading all the banter in here. The image is an image, nothing more and nothing less, and however I cannot give much of a rating due to the skills portion, there is always room for improvement. I have done some VERY erotic works using Poser/3DS/Lightwave, etc., and to some they might offend, but hell, I do them for myself before anyone else. One thing this image has done, it has gotten all of you to think for a moment. Many of your works can and will fall under scrutiny. Fight the corporation! Fight censorship! Move those mice around with freedom that what you conceive, you can design! Last comment: I suggest Renderosity to many of my students, and if that image comes down, I am out of here and never again suggest to my students that this site is worth the time. (a note to the Webmaster(s)). Thank you

Art: A medium used to evoke a response and or emotion in those viewing a given work. Good or bad thats art =)

The man painted Pigs blood on a portrait of Mary. He didn't do a good job on it because the reason was to offend people. Personally, this looks like Crap work done to offend people. I have a real problem with it. If you would have done a good job on it, it still may be offensive but atleast it wouldn't seem that your motive is to offend people as it is now. I give you a 1.

people....Its an Artists interpretation. This artist is a beginner. cut him some slack. Look at it from a technical perspective. This is actually one of the most interesting pics I've seen in these galleries. Not because of the image...but because of the response. What would you say if "jesus" was not in the title?

I'd probably say, "dumb picture, and bad taste." The title has gone on to rob it of what little merit it may have had.

Blasphemy is blasphemy, whether conceiled as "art" or verbal curses.

What I think, and what you think doesn't matter...What matters is what does God think? He comes, dies for you(all) and you slap Him in the face with a picture like that? That's sad. If you have personal opinions such as what's above then you should keep it to yourself.

Ok yo, the hands, hair and pants do look a little weird but that can all be fixed. When i saw teh title of this pic i was laughing, then wehn i looked at it i was like WTF is this. But I dont really care, cuz ya see its not him, cuz ya see he said he made it for someone else, so maybe thats what they wanted eh?

What the heck is this, what's with the middle finger and the hair, looks like he's being zapped. But if you got rit of the middle fingers and the pants and the hair then it would be a little better. This picture would make the Pope swear. I really would rate this as a 0 but 1 is the lowest there is.

Yeah! I think a lot of people missed the point of this image. What if the myth of Jesus had followed that he came down from the cross? Art has always challenged its viewer with concepts that were perhaps beyong their time. I'm giving you a ten so as to encourage you to further develop your art from. Unfortunately you will be unable to stop the insular puritans from attacking your need for expression. You know the reason you create for and that's all that matters. Be uplifting, creative and promote growth and truth.

If you enjoyed creating this picture uy-ht thats great. No one has the right to tear someones art to pieces. We all post our art here for a reason and thats because we enjoy creating our own pictures. Only give postive comments and ones of encouragement. I personally dont appreciate anyone giving rude remarks to a picture any artist has created. If you enjoyed creating this uy-ht thats great.

you know what, i like it. and i personally feel that if people get offended by it, then they're too sensitive. i got a little bit of bad feedback on one of my religious pics once -- portraying jesus, and simply asking the question "why?" (including some of the tamer lyrics from a perfect circle's "judith"). the geek that freaked had their message removed. hey, freedom of religion is for everyone. if you're too anal to handle that, then don't look at an image that you think will upset you -- cos then you're just looking for trouble. besides, the picture has a positive message -- could anyone hold the spirit of Jesus (if you so believe in christianity)? No. the words of the pic say "you can't hold me!" just because this Jesus is a black man put into a modern perspective doesn't mean that the person who made this picture is disrespecting anything. and Jesus was a rebel for his time, anyway. as for the technicalities, fine, the textures arent the best. but personally, i think there are too many crappy models in renderosity that are badly posed, with bad textures, but are naked females and get an absolute buttload of viewings because they are naked females. at least this one has a message. i think 10 out of 10 for the concept, 10 out of 10 for anarchy, and 10 out of 10 for having a model that dares to have a message rather than nudity. my rant is over :) if you don't like it, don't look.

Hey man you got a comment to make you make it, but you gotta learn to make your images a bit better, and I post in the beginners as well. work on the image, not the concept. We all got our crosses to bear. Me I am a pagan, Goddess Bless

The image looks like trash but it is quite possibly the best concept I have seen on the renderosity galleries so far. A lot of the feedback is disgusting. Especially from chrisvictor. Why does religion have to be "true" in the first place? I am an unofficial taoist myself and believe the tao is quite pleased . . . if you want that perspective. Offensive images are part of art. That's what it's supposed to do. Art isn't pretty. That's not what it's made for. Ask Picasso. A good number of people who post the oversize boobed naked women get hell from me, but not because of pornography, but clich If you can't say anything, don't. If you have something interesting to say: go for it. I can count at least five great ideas that we are toying with here. The fact that everyone hates it should be a compliment. Great job!

Technically, I would not really be able to comment too much, as I am a beginner myself, but I would probably agree on the textures bit, it would make quite a difference. On the other hand, I really cannot see why people can be so offended by this. I am offended by blasphemy as much as the next person, but I have to agree that if this is what you feel you wanted to do to express yourself, then by all means, do it ! Nudity offends lots of people, but they're not the ones buying all the girly mags then, are they ? The bottom line is... If it does offend you, why bother to look at it and rant on about it...? You cannot stop other people from thinking the way they do and no one gives you the right to try and inhibit their way of expressing themselves. You might as well try to bring the porn industry to a halt, good luck... And in closing to chrisvictor; just think how bloody boring this stupid little planet would have been if everyone always kept all their opinions to themselves ?? Keep up the good work, uy-ht, looking forward to see some more. ;)
