Amazing what history a plane can have, and how many people it can save. You caught that strange mix of print and rippled background that these plaques have. I never understood the ripples, only because they catch light and make it harder to read the words! But in person, the light may not be as strong. I always thought the ripples were used to make it appear like earth, out of which the message 'emerges'...but that may not be the reason...Sweet capture.
