Hi folks, something nostalgic. Several years ago, I had a stint working at Lockheed in Sunnyvale, CA. I am a software developer and I was trying to resurrect an old 1980’s ground test system they had built for the IKONOS satellite. It was in an old warehouse building full of hundreds of file cabinets and the documentation was scattered among them all. I was given the task of going through all the cabinets to collect any IKONOS-related documents. Of course, it was a complete jumble and it took most of the summer! Some drawers contained assorted personal memorabilia like grocery lists, lab notebooks, and lots of trash. One drawer had a brochure that caught my eye - a visitor guide from O.M.G Cape Kennedy in July, 1969! I took it home and scanned several pages. I still have it somewhere, found it again when moving in 2015, but in light of the 50th anniversary, I searched for and found the scans! Unless you already have a copy, it’s worth a chuckle. I love the ads: Girls! Girls! Girls!, ITT recruitment, nightclub acts (the incomparable Buddy Young), etc.
