Description
This is a commission. A little different from my usual stuff :P
Mr Webby is an ettercap mage. Ettercaps are a race of aberrations (as in the creatures from or touched by the Far Realm) that have an affinity with spiders. One of the challenges of drawing them is that there isn't a definitive to represent them. If you are old school like me, you saw them represented as furry humanoids with fangs. But aberrations now more often drawn hairless. I went with the modern description "Ettercaps resembled hunched, grey-purplish humanoids with distended white underbellies, spider-like faces (fangs and eyes and such), and two sharp, black chitinous claws instead of hands and feet." Most representations have him with 2 arms, but I was told this one has 6, giving him a more spider-like appearance, which I feel works fine.
Despite his monstrous appearance, I was asked to represent him sitting down like an retired professor reading a book. I hope I managed him to look non-threatening.

No! He does not seem threatening. ;-) I think I can sit down with him and learn a lot from him.

Thank you, I'm glad that came out right, like I said I tried making him like a nice fellow but he has that alien appearance so it was a challenge.

Have to say its an odd one....but you pulled it off......must be really had to do something like this.... as you just don't know, what the commission wants to see....again commended your skill and talent for taken this on......very well one, great work...!!

Thank you, it's good to know I managed to pull it off. It is a challenge, the commissioner tells you want they want to see but you don't know it's coming out right. To make it more challenging the commissioner requested it as a gift so we didn't know if his look was completely accurate. But I think everyone was happy at the end :)

Creepy cool ! Interesting commission and creation. He does not look threatening. In fact looks docile. So you pulled off the ask. And I would say it was a big ask. Making such creatures look non threatening is not easy to say the least.
