Description

From out of the north they came, with the first of the autumn storms, and they brought death and misery with them... Nearly all the scenery and characters are 3d, with quite a bit of postwork in Photoshop. Thanks to Deviney as always for his excellent brushes, primarily fog and rain.

Very good fantasy scene and the post work definitely enhances the mood. These are some mean trollish raiders.

All kinds of good things going on here, great details to discover while scanning the environment. My initial experience of "great lighting!" did a double take as I realized you have a bit of a rivalry among lights much like Magritte's The Empire of Light. Warm firelight in the cottage and lanterns suggesting night time and then a fairly bright sky with white light illuminating the clouds and fog. Part of this may be due to screening your fog (which while a popular method) will make the vapor appear to be emitting its own light. If this is not the case then I'll just say the fog brightness may be the main culprit in denying you the night you're establishing. I see now the light source in the sky is a bit warm so maybe it isn't night. It's your fantasy world so feel free to ignore my rambling.
