Arénas of Doué la Fontaine On the border of the Douces and Doué territories, the arenas have been dug into the shell stone. These arenas could have been built in Merovingian or Carolingian times. Over time, they were used as an inn in the 18th century, then as a prison during the Revolution. In 1870, an ammunition depot was set up there.
