The story continues from the previous render... I am in love all over again I said to myself looking at Miho sitting on the bench looking at the setting sun... She was looking positively radiant and beautiful... After intercepting the creepy nuclear scientist and taking his brain scan Miho was happy to realize that he was no way near the task the Corporation had given him - to create a small drink can sized nuclear bomb that was not detectable by any airport scanner or for that matter any nuclear material scanner. Which gave Miho a bit of breathing space. She would shutdown that lab in the remote island that this scientist had been working on but it could wait for the moment. We had been tracking the submarine via satellite that had transported him to the rendezvous so we knew where the remote island lab was. We had taken a short trip to Japan on the hyperplane. Miho had said she wanted to clear her mind. I knew where we were going. Miho had talked about the place before but I did not know how beautiful it really was until I actually saw it. It was one of Miho's countless properties that she owned around the world. This was a lush grassland with wild flowers, Sakura trees (Cherry Blossom) and wild horses. It was on a small hill next to the sea. There was only a single old park bench she had installed when she had bought this area to protect it and keep it as is. It had a beautiful view of the sun setting over the sea. On this huge property she also had a small wooden cottage she used whenever she visited this place. It was a couple of kilometers from the place the bench was installed and so she had a cycle in the cottage that she used to use to ride to the spot where the bench was. Once we landed next to the cottage, we got out and the freshness of the air hit me. This time the wolf was with us too. It went exploring the place while Miho and I went into the cottage. Miho looked at me and saw how tired I was and asked me to take a nap. She said she will wake me up when it was time to go and see the sunset. Without protesting I hit the sack. I needed that nap. Evening came and Miho woke me up. As I opened my eyes, I saw Miho bending over me wearing the sheer dress looking so beautiful. She kissed me and said it was time to go. The wolf also stood there looking at me too. Energized after the nap, I was ready to go and see this spot Miho talked about so much. Miho pointed to the bicycle and I knew I would have to cycle her there and I actually looked forward to it. So we got on the cycle with Miho sitting behind me with her arms around me and we started off with the wolf fast walking besides us. None of us spoke during our journey to the spot. Each of us was lost in our own thoughts in this beautiful place.... Finally the path ended and Miho asked me to stop. She said from there we need to walk to the spot that was a few minutes away. So we got off the cycle and walked across the grass-field hand in hand with the wolf walking next to Miho. What a beautiful and serene place it was.... Full of Sakura trees and wild horses all of whom bowed their head at Miho as a mark of respect as we passed them by and Miho returned that respect by bowing her her head to them. They were always happy to see Miho. And with Miho there, they did not mind the wolf which otherwise would a caused a commotion among them. We reached the spot and the sunset view from there was indeed breathtaking. Miho sat down on the bench. The golden sunlight was bathing everything and making her look so radiant. I had to capture this moment. The wolf come over to my side as though it had read my mind and did not want to get between me taking her photo. Both of us stood there looking at her.... mesmerized by her... I finally toke the camera and took a few snaps. To me this was the most beautiful photo I had taken of Miho and this sight would be something that I would remember for the rest of my life.... I sat down next to Miho and the wolf came and sat down at our feet. Then all three of us just looked at the beautiful and spectacular view of the sun setting over the sea. Once again none of us spoke... all three of us lost in the moment... While we were enjoying the peacefulness of this place and the sunset, things at the Corporation were anything but peaceful. The Chairman of the Corporation was furious. Nothing was going right for them. They still had not been able to identify the entity that was causing them such harm even after having more than 500 staff around the world on the job of identifying the entity. On top of that he was told they still had not heard from that the ship they had sent to steal the precious ores they needed to create the advanced weapons. And on top of that a board member was present on that ship (You can refer to the previous story here (Content Advisory : Contains nudity. Do not click if such content offends you.) to see what happened to him if you have not read that story) and he needed to be protected. After all the Corporation was made up of very powerful and corrupt families from across the world and each family was represented by one member of the family as a board member of the Corporation. If any of the board member was captured, there was hell to pay. All the Corporation's security offices were buzzing with non-stop activities to try and identity this unknown entity that was causing so much harm to their empire. Actually what Miho did not know about the Corporation was that it was hundreds of years old. It was an alliance that was formed in the shadows and had been orchestrating world event throughout history and they had never faced this kind of challenge to their power. Which is why they were so mad about what Miho was doing to them.... The story will continue with the next render...

I am in love with Miho all over again :)... I love how beautiful she looks in this. This was a scene I wanted to do for long but had not gotten around to doing it. Finally created it. It looks deceptively simple. But to get this output had to do a lot of work and RnD with the VHDRI lighting. Everything on the scene has a custom or enhanced material. For the grass and flowers I added transmission and a bit more punch. For the bench it is totally custom texture and shader. The original was green colored wood and dark metal legs. I used the bump map of the original material and created a mask with it that I used to mix two different Octane materials - one faded white paint material and the other old wood. One other reason to use white instead of green was that I wanted more light reflecting back onto Miho. That was one could see how her dress draped around the conture of the bench backrest and one could also see the conture of Miho's body through the dress. The dress too has a completely custom material shader. I had done a lot of Rnd with different materials, patterns and colors and finally settled on white to give it a sheer look. I also edited the color of the Sakura tree to add a bit of punch. The horse textures were where I did the least amount of work as I knew they would appear blurry because of the DOF used and so it did not matter that much. The cycle too has a complete custom texture and it also needed masks to be created to separate out parts of it so that I could apply different materials to different parts even though the different parts were actually using the same texture map. The scene had started with me applying a sitting pose to Miho. Then I looked for a bench. After that I adjusted her pose a bit more and shaped her thigh (in ZBrush) to follow the conture of the bench. That gave her a more natural and real look (not like the thighs of 3D characters look when they are posed seated). Then I applied the grassland prop I had followed by the Sakura trees. After doing some test renders I thought adding horses will make it look better so I added two of them and posed them in a way that both were looking at Miho. Things were looking good but something seemed to be missing. That is when I added the cycle and posed it leaning against the back of the bench with Miho's shoes in the basket in front. I had wanted to keep Miho's feet barefoot. And that looked like what I had wanted. After that it was basically a fair bit of testing with camera angles and lighting to get to this render. I think the quality of light is pretty amazing if I may say so. The golden hue over everything adds to that feeling of sunset. This was a sunset VHDRI from hyperfocaldesign.com. I did mess around with it's gamma to add more punch but had to reduce the overall exposure otherwise everything was overblown. Update : I just updated this render with much better highlight control on Miho's skin. The highlights were ultra bright and concentrated in small parts unlike how highlights appear on skin. So I edited my custom skin shader for Miho to get them under control. In this updated version they look much better and more spread out as they should.
