Description
This is based on a stained glass painting of Jacques de Molay, last known Grand Master of the Knights Templar. He was burned as a heretic in France in 1304. The JBM stands for "Jacobus Burgundus Molensis," a rendering of his name in latin.
The character shown here was modeled after the Secretary of my Masonic Lodge.

This made me cry. This is an emotional piece...You captured that very well. The flames are his torture.. his face his story. How he maintains his honor with a struggle against excruciating pain. Doubt??? No doubt..his only fear is that he not die with dignity.. Splendid piece.. I love it.
