Description
_______ Before starting the trek to Laprak earlier this year, we visited Patan, also called Lalitpur, one of the three former capital cities of Nepal, a city founded in the third century BC, and part of the Unesco World Heritage sites. Though heavily damaged by the 2015 earthquake, the Patan Durbar Square, namely the historical city center is now being rebuilt or renovated, but some temples of invaluable historical value have survived the earthquake, like this 'Golden Temple', a three-storey golden Pagoda, actually not a temple but a Buddhist monastery where the monks still pray in the upper storeys, a monastery also known for feeding rats, but I didn't see any of them as I took this picture!
________ Patan is said to have produced the highest number of renowned artists and finest craftsmen ever recorded in the history of Nepali art, and I reckon that it must be true, looking at the numerous other temples, statues and artifacts visitors can see all round the Durbar Square.
_______Many thanks for your comments on my former photo from Nepal...Have a nice and reasonably sunny weekend! Zoom in for the details!

Quoi ? Qu'apprends-je ? Tu as raté les rats ?
