Cette église est située en Anjou dans la commune de Doué la Fontaine Eglise paroissiale saint Pierre, limite 15e siècle 16e siècle ; façade ouest reprise au 17e siècle ; sacristie construite en 1834 ; chapelle sud construite en 1866 par Charles Joly-Leterme. La construction de l'église actuelle est fixée au XVe siècle, elle est bâtie en remplacement de la première, édifiée en 1040.Pendant la Révolution, elle accueillit des prisonniers vendéens, puis fut transformée en entrepôt. Elle devint Temple de la Raison en l'An III de la République et le culte de l'Etre Suprême y fut célébré ; dans le même temps les cloches furent enlevées et envoyées à Saumur. Au XIXe siècle, les curés successifs s'employèrent à embellir l'église et ajoutèrent un baptistère, 2 petits autels, des vitraux et la chapelle sud .L'église, de style gothique, possédait autrefois des pinacles et des clochetons, hélas démolis, et le clocher d'ardoise a remplacé un beau clocher en pierre. The construction of the current church is fixed in the 15th century, it was built to replace the first one, built in 1040, during the Revolution, it welcomed Vendée prisoners, then was transformed into a warehouse. It became a Temple of Reason in Year III of the Republic and the cult of the Supreme Being was celebrated there; at the same time the bells were removed and sent to Saumur.In the 19th century, successive priests embellished the church and added a baptistery, 2 small altars, stained glass windows and the southern chapel; the church, in Gothic style, once had pinnacles and bell towers, unfortunately demolished, and the slate bell tower replaced a beautiful stone bell tower.
