Description

The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is a large deer from temperate forests in Europe, North Africa, North America and Asia. Its name is a pleonasm because "elaphe" already means "deer" in Greek. This deer is one of the most famous representatives of this mammalian family. The species includes several subspecies, including Bactrian deer, Turkestan deer, Turkestan red deer, Turkestan red deer and Turkestan elaphe deer. The female is the deer, the young is the fawn. Then, from 6 months to 1 year, it is called "hère" if it is a male, the female keeps the fawn name until one year. From 1 to 2 years old, the young male is called "daguet" with two large dry woods and the female "bichette".
