Description
Time's running out folks--if we, as citizens of the world, don't unite and make some serious and drastic changes in our lifestyles right here and right now, civilization, as we know it, will be gone...The deniers like to play the tune that not using carbon-based fuels will be bad for the economy. What they just can't seem to get into their thick skulls, that without a healthy world environment, there will be no economics...think about food production and distribution, communications, commerce in general--nothing will be immune from the unforgiving effects of climate change.
I have been beating my gums about this pressing issue for nearly 40 years...the response was "we can't go back." Well, looks like Mother Nature will force us to go back, way back...so, be afraid, really afraid.
A small sample of what's actually happening around the world ATM:
-- Jakarta sinking
-- 12.5 billion tons of Greenland's glacial ice melted in one day
-- The fires in Siberia
-- The melting permafrost in Siberia and Canada
-- The unprecedented heat in Europe and USA
-- July 2019 the hottest July recorded
If your elected officials do not support the scientific facts of climate change, vote them out! And don't wait for government to act quickly enough...it is up to each individual to effectuate the needed changes--make your wallet do the talking...

Uber awesome lighting. Tremendously done use of about time product. Guess the NRA, government and avid huge gun collectors will never resolve the style of guns allowed to be owned by the average John Q Public. So sad.
The average home owner does not need an AK47 for self defence.

My image is about the impending dangers of climate change, not gun ownership, Steve.

The dim and strange (but cool) lighting, her slumped posture and disgusted facial expression is spot on. I agree with what you say, here. I'm frightened for the children of the future.
rhol_figament
Cool cyber punk character, she seems in a dark mood. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Cute scene.

Fantastic work!

One of the problems at this moment is that #45 is a denier and refuses to accept the fact, calling them Fake News.
Great image

Fantastic and sad image, Barb!
I totally agree with you that there is an urgency for the climate, and maybe it is already too late. But I think we should not think that individually there are many things to do. Of course, you can buy electric cars ... if you have enough money to do it, and many people can not. And at the same time, some will continue to make unnecessary plane trips that are very harmful! There should be rules of conduct imposed to all, and empower people to respect these rules. I hope that all this will not happen too late!

Agree wholeheartedly. There will be nothing left.

Fantastic work on this image, Barb, and a timely and powerful message. And you nailed it. Between climate change, nuclear proliferation, and idiots running amok with assault rifles it will be a miracle if we make it another hundred years.
Sadly our current crop of 'elected officials' don't seem to possess the mental capacity to understand scientific facts. The only thing they seem to have a talent for is running a continuous and nauseating soap opera. Morons.

Love the colors and lighting, very well done

So many people cast this worry about climate change to the pedal bin of life! How short-sighted they are!
I think the biggest telltale that all is not well is the amount of ice melting and previously frozen areas are now thawing like there's no tomorrow!
I'm with you all the way on this Barbara!

Love the image and agree with the message.

Excellent

Excellent image; and I agree with your message. Our UK politicians seem to have no idea what to do.
