Description

Convertible Concept Car I drove around 3200 miles in Texas,Oklahoma,Colorado, and Wyoming. I seen so many beautiful landscapes and cloud formations. I real purpose was to see the collection at the Gateway Auto Museum at Gateway, Colorado including the F-88 Concept Car 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 . it is only a few miles from the Utah State line, but unless you have wings it would be difficult to go to Utah from there. from what I have been told by museum people there were only 3 made and one was destroyed. I do not know about the second car. I arrived home today after 3200 miles,5 Motels, and missing many meals for failure to find a suitable place to eat. I ate a lot of junk food to survive I returned also to the museum at Pueblo Airport. when I looked at the museum on Google Earth I spotted a B47 in their collection. I seen so many B47's as a kid because we lived in the approach for Douglas Aircraft and one exploded above my mother's home. the crew of (7 I think) were killed and the debris landed 10 miles away. the blast was unbelievably loud Gateway Auto Museum 43224 Highway 141 Gateway, Colorado 81522 Phone: 970.931.2895 Highway 141 extends from Whitewater and Durango Colorado. it is a very scenic drive but save some space (lots) for the museum

Glad you had a good and safe journey, Richard. Great info about the F-88. I suppose if you wanted a more futuristic car than that, then you probably had get a flying bubble car like from The Jetsons.

The fate of that B47 is quite horrifying.
