Pencils: H to 8B
Elephant time baby! This is slow going because there are a lot of details in the elephant to get in there. On the other hand, the effect of getting all those details in is pretty amazing. What I have so far is pretty much photorealistic (I did change one or two minor things about the elephant for aesthetic reasons, and I don't know if it counts as photorealism if it isn't attempting to be an exact replica of a photo . . .).
I do not think I will be rendering any image quite this precisely again any time soon. My back is sore from holding the position, and my eyes are frequently getting tired of looking at it. I need to take long breaks and look at it again in order to spot even glaring flaws.

It is very interesting to be able to follow the structure of the drawing, I love working with pencil anyway, it is so relaxing, isn't it ?.
