just another fast try to see if an idea really worked...
Here: use Biscuits' Hair Extension No1 to make a fox-ish tail..
I put a geometry shell on the tail to use a different hair texture on the tail's tip.. the Hair Extension has only one material zone and instead of editing it, using a geometry shell and just leaving the part on the tip visible and with a different texture was the fast way to do it... ^^

I'm sure there's even more ways to use that hair piece... And working with your products always is fun, as they have so many options already built into them.
