Just kidding, calm down your tits everyone. Apart from the incredible technical quality (render, shaders/textures, lights), to me this is deep. His smile seems fake and "just for the camera", cause his eyes seem to have seen things. Things not too pretty. Things that will not make you smile... at all.
To me this is one of the best realistic portraits I've seen over a long time, not just because the technical level, but because of all the subtle hints of a character's story. Grande work, brother!

i see his smile as a little almost smirk, as if he knows a few things the rest of us don't, and something about that amuses him [is it what he knows? is it our ignorance?] i love the lines just above his upper lip - they look more like an old scar than age-related which adds to the 'character' of your character. but my favourite bit is the shape of his eyes and the glint within. you've done such a wonderful thing here, and i'm hoping you feel very pleased right about now... i know i would [colour me with green tinges...]
