There is a plug in that they give away with Corel PSP20 - named Pic To Painting - They have about ten different presets and they do some pretty good conversions on photos. This is the first avatar graphic that I've converted. I guess you could smooth them up and make a comic template out of your 3D graphics - easy enough.
