La chouette leptogramme est un rapace nocturne fréquentant exclusivement le sud de l'Asie. Oiseau forestier, il est assez répandu mais relativement méconnu du fait de son mode de vie très secret et des difficultés à l'observer dans son milieu naturel. Son plus proche parent est la chouette hulotte de nos contrés.
The Brown wood owl is a nocturnal raptor that occurs exclusively in South Asia. A forest bird, it is quite widespread but relatively unknown because of its very secret way of life and the difficulties of observing it in its natural environment. Its closest relative is the tawny owl of our region.
