Someday I really, truly will write an honest-to-goodness proper biography that everyone will actually want to read. But it is still not that day. Really, what more is there to tell you other than I'm an adult who still plays with dolls -- the Daz/Poser kind -- and occasionally suffers from the delusion of being taken seriously as an artist/writer? Okay, I also confess to being a chocolate addict with a Snape fixation, a highly prized collection of dust bunnies under the bed, and a stuffed snake with which I sometimes terrorize a certain silly relative who really ought to know better. Now please excuse me while I try to figure out how to keep Sherlock from completely killing my couch and Watson from barking at every passing cloud. :sigh: A Byrdie's work is never done ;-)

nice render! and with hair! my housecat is always hairless, laptop too lame for lamh and other hair.. that's why i love my AI cats ^^
Byrdie
I know, took me forever to get a half decent coat on him and that's the hair that came with, not the lamh stuff. Not to mention the greater breed variety we get with our AI kitties. Don't think I've seen a Maine Coon yet for either Daz or Poser, and that's just one I can think of that are especially floofy.

i've seen images of longhaired cats with the hivewirecat and long lamh presets (guess if you pick "coony" colors and morph a big cat...) but i never managed to do it, my laptop crashes before. same with the daz housecat, it freezes the whole system searching for some "white square".. wth. but you seem apt enough in photoshop to add the hair - i suck at gimp when drawing/brushing is invoved lol

That's the Daz dynamic hair he came with, it drove me nuts too looking for that same white square. Finally got it on him and fiddled with the dials enough to get a passible look, then did a small bit of photoshop clone brushing to "paint" the good strands over the thinner good ones. Then some very fine smudge brushing/soft blurring to blend the patches. A lot of it was playing with colour and lighting on different layers to fake the extra fuzziness. Practice, patience and luck. LOTS of luck. :-)
Gimp I still cannot figure, too many changes since the last time I used it, maybe 10-15 years ago. Have stuck with Paintshop Pro and Photoshop CS2. Maybe one day I'll win the lottery and can afford an upgrade. One can but hope.
