"What a day," the Commander said to his lieutenant as he pulled the door closed to their quarters, "I believe we must have visited every possible department in the compound."

Responding to her partner, Omega addressed the man as she sat on the sofa, "trust me, we did.  Though I think we could have skipped the waste treatment facility altogether."

Taking a seat to relax, the Commander said, "come now Shara, it wasn't that bad. After about ten minutes, you go nose blind."  Then with a slight chuckle added, "besides, the workers seemed happy to see us.  We were probably the first VIPs that have been there since the place opened."

Reclining on the sofa to face the man, Shara sarcastically replied, her nose slightly wrinkled up, "I wonder why... and you forget the fact that I was genetically engineered.   Because of that, all my senses are heightened.  In plain terms, I don't go 'nose blind', sir."

Unable to help himself, Aurturo began laughing at the woman's laments stating, "I'm truly sorry.  You could have let me know and I would have made an excuse for you leave."  Then with the look of a sad eyed puppy, softly said, " can you forgive me?  I promise I'll only go there by myself from now on."

"I'll consider it," Shara replied as she rose and walked around to the back of the sofa.  Standing there for a moment, she continued, "right now, I need a shower and to burn this uniform.  I can still smell the stench."

With a suggestive grin on his face, the man quipped, "perhaps I can start making it up to you, now.  I could help you scrub your back... and other hard to reach places."

Bending over to gently caress his face, Shara cooed, "as tempting and enjoyable as it sounds, I think best we postpone that for another time."  Noticing the disappointed look on Auturo's face, she went on to say, "remember, we have an appointment to brief our newly promoted military staff.  We wouldn't want to be late, would we?"  Turning to begin her trip upstairs to the sleeping areas, added seductively, "and my dear Commander, there will be plenty of opportunities for that, later."

Rising from the sofa to watch Shara ascend the stairs, Auturo let out a soft sigh and whispered to himself, "I hate it when she's right."

Still walking up the stairs, the woman called back, "I heard that, mister."

Not being able to help himself, the Commander chuckled inward and thought, "damn genetic engineering..."
