Description
The sun was a faint glow behind us as we reached the outskirts of the Zamiri camp. Long shadows traced out our path and an elusive moon danced her way teasingly between the remnant clouds from last night's storm.
The air was still gritty and it felt as though what sand wasn't in our mouths had to be in our clothing and baggage.
As we neared the camp we were challenged by a sentry, a boy of indeterminable years, lovingly nursing a flintlock that might have seen service in Napoleonic times.
He chastised us for being late amid much laughter, told us his name was Abu, and bragged how great a shot he was and how many goats his father owned. He was an exuberant bundle of energy, everything we weren't after our ordeal.
We hobbled our mounts as ordered and followed our young guard to the chieftain's tent where he told us firmly to wait outside while he sought out the chief.
After a while, a tall figure dressed in rough dark robes made his way towards us with the boy. I removed my veil so the chief could see I was an offending foreigner, here to beg permission to cross his lands. I bowed, offering the customary salaams, a gesture that elicited a tinkle of laughter from the chief as well as deep guffaws from my companions as a small waterfall of sand cascaded from my head to the desert floor.
I looked up quizzically, wondering who was behind the dark veil.
The chief pulled aside his outer veil to reveal the face of a woman covered by an inner veil, albeit almost transparent.
I felt my mouth fall open in surprise, wondering if I were the butt of some Zamiri joke, not that I minded being greeted by such an alluring creature.
"I am Sidura, Cheiftainess of the Zamiri," smiled the woman, "Welcome to our humble camp..."

Just an astonishing, jaw-dropping render. You have set the bar, Mr. Gormley, many of us will be hard-pressed to reach and have left no doubt that Poser in the hands of a skilled artisan is a force to be reckoned with. Their promo department should hire you. :-) Bravissimo !!
