At first, thank you for the nice comments, likes and favorits to my last image: TFLWPT - Last but not least.
It means a lot to me.
Today I would like to tell a true story.
This black cat in the picture is Joey. Actually his name is Leo, but I only found out today.
Last fall, we had an underweight hedgehog, which we wanted to bring with cat food on his fight weight. In retrospect, it turned out that the hedgehog was short-lived, but that's another story.
Anyway, I fed quite a while, because the food was always gone. When hedgehogs go into hibernation, I did not know exactly.
One evening I saw a black cat eating the hedgehog food (cat food). I tried to contact him, but he was scared and ran away. Gradually, he became more trusted. I knew he lived somewhere across the street. But he seemed to be a real free spirit and not a housecat.
He became more and more trusting with us until we finally became good friends. Now I did not know if his owner was right to feed the cat. Finally, Joey spent the whole summer with us on the park-like property. Now comes the cold season and that's why I was worried about the cat. Eventually she stayed on our property day and night and I did not know if she even had a sheltered place.
I wrote a nice letter to his owner and asked if she missed a black cat ...
Today I got a call from the supposed cat owner.She told me that her father had died and she took his cat at home. She herself already has two cats who can not tolerate the black cat. So the black cat sat down tactically. First, the neighbor's neighbor fed the cat, but he was looking for something better. Namely me ...She does not mind, but is glad that Joey, (Leo) has it well with me. Especially since we do not let him into the apartment, because my husband has a cat hair allergy. That's how we both helped. I have a Cat friend. And the cat has a philanthropist whom he feels comfortable with.
A real happy ending ...

Joey/Leo looks very content in this photo! I love your story and kindness toward your new friend. My wife and I have a little different story to tell. We also, well, mainly my wife, started feeding a black stray cat. She was very skinny and had a very bad would on her right side. Either she had been hit by a vehicle or caught by a dog. At any rate, she kept coming back to eat and gradually my wife was able to help her heal up the would. It took awhile but gradually, she started venturing into the house. We have four other house cats so there was a little fuss over a new rival but nothing serious. That was, I don' know, several years ago now. She is now a vital part of our family. Her name is Lady Hope. She still likes going outside and visit whomever it is she is acquainted with in our neighborhood, but spends more and more time with us inside. We would certainly be lost without her. She has such an incredible personality. She loves receiving our love as well.

Lovely photo,I had a similar experience to yours,the cat that is now ours,has been with us now for 10 yrs,getting on a bit now he is 17 1/2 yrs old,but we love him to bits.he left his original owner when she got a dog & was happy enough to let us keep the cat.lovely to read yours has a happy ending also!
