Description

Just a quick bit of playing with Ariel (freebie over at Fantasy Attic) and a few of the hundreds of Apo renders I have laying around.. Ariel was rendered in PP 11.2 (I finally installed the update). It could just be me, but the new Bondware version seems a lot smoother as far as moving figures, props, and even cameras is concerned. I was never really terribly excited about Poser 11 before, but it seems to be working really well with this new version. Thanks to Bondware/Renderosity for giving Poser new life! One bonus feature I've discovered is I can actually have PP 11 running on one machine, and PP 2014 on another at the same time. I couldn't do that with the SM version - it would give me a message about the serial number running on another machine. Not any more! Sweet! AND...... Page 42 is in progress, and should be done soon. AND.... There will be a Page 43 before we head into Chapter 7. I had a massive brainstorm last night (must have been the maple plank roasted salmon I had for my birthday dinner...), and came up with an idea for an additional page. Can you say "cliff-hanger?" We had a wonderful time last night - we were joined by our pals Bill and Tara (Bmac62 and Auntietk) who we met right here on Rendo! Anyway, before I write a book... Enjoy the Dual-Poser setup while it lasts! If I understand correctly, anything other than Poser Pro 11.2 will stop working when SM Switch off their licensing servers. Until that happens, you’ll probably be OK - but after that date, it’s Poser 11.2 forever. Out of curiosity, can you run two instances of that at the same time?

From what I understand, it was only PoserPro 2014 Game Developer that "phoned home" to the SM servers. I've been disconnected from the internet in the past, and PP 2014 had no problems.

I can run 2 instances of PP 2014 at the same time, but I haven't tried it with PP-11.2 yet - it's only installed on one machine at the moment. Once all the tweaks are done (like Snarlygribbly's AVFIX so EZ-Skin works again), I'll probably install it on a second system. I'll let you know either way, Jay.

A pretty fractal to show of a pretty character. I really like the light around her head.

I'm glad you had a nice birthday.

Very different to your usual playing! I like that effect, it is just what I visualised when reading a science fiction book titled "The Echoing Worlds" a very long time ago. I am glad you've been having fun in between renders, it's about time things went more smoothly!

Great job!
And you are correct in that only PP2014 Game Dev and Poser 11.1 phoned home. All other versions of Poser are unaffected by the change!
And I'm totally thrilled you're happy with 11.2!!

the only Poser I ever had was PP 2014, and I was blown away by how complex the program is (my first foray into 3D), and how intricate its understanding of the elements of an image. (After that, I tried Blender, lost my mind, found it in a basement in Madagascar, and never went back to 3D after that. I swear one can re-create the atom with these programs...) But anyway, I love your apo background, your model weaves in and out of it---really well done, Rod---and is almost dancing in club. And the big halo-explosion is right over her head (more fine composition), and you also lit her with club light---ie, dark light with club interior highlights (that compressed light that one only gets in confined, intense spaces...perfect for the image). And as always, a beautiful piece of clothing, sexy, and perfectly placed; w/ a perfect dance pose. Glad you had a bday dinner with the K-M's! A beautiful image to go along with it; you used the Apo beautifully.

Majorly fantastic image here, Rod! Love the background and the character. A most impressive creation. Bravo! Glad you were able to experience a 'salmon brain inspiration explosion' the like of which neither go nor man has ever experience before. Keep up the good work.
