Description
During my convalescence I'm having a lot more time to listen to old records, and yesterday I had the occasion to dig out the first album by the late great Jaco Pastorius. It features one of the most influential and and virtuoso solo bass pieces ever, and that directly inspired this little hommage.
I tried to get the bass to match his own, but alas the limitations of the model i used didn't allow it. At least its still a Fender Jazz bass of the correct period!

A great tribute to Jaco, and I think the bass is rather close to his one :) , and yes he was one of the pioneer with Stanley Clarke (and the somehow underrated Francis Rocco-Prestia :).

Its interesting that most people know of Tower of Power, but would still say "Francis who?" Such a master of fingerstyle; along with James Jamerson.

I still have my 1965 Fender Precision Bass in Sun-burst color scheme. I can only sit and admire the great bass players of our time. Without going through the litany of people who have been part of this group I will say that Joe Satriani (Yes, That one!) is still someone I really enjoy listening to on purely a lyrical level. Cheers to all the bass players of the world. . . the good, the not so good and everyone in-between (LOL).
