Beautiful image.
It is a shame that Caucasian historians and later, Hollywood, portrayed the Native American Indian woman as the squaw that only did cooking, cleaning and child bearing... never traveling far from 'the teepee' and then to only gather nuts, berries, roots, firewood and water.
Women were considered capable fighters in defense of hearth and home, often engaging the enemy in battle beside their husbands, brothers and fathers when the need arose. There are tales that some were more ruthless than the men they fought beside, their wrath even more feared by the enemy.
