Description

I have been gone since the 18th of October to New Mexico, Arizona, California,Nevada, and Utah. walked the beaches along Highway 1, Joshua Tree National Park, a auto/aircraft museum at the same place Paso Robles,CA. walked up in Utah at some parks also. I arrived about 1AM this morning . when I was approaching a 3 exit town in New Mexico, the temperature was 59F and after passing the third exit it had dropped to 39F. before I reached Texas, it was in the 20's. I seen a man cutting grass on the Interstate 40 in Texas with strong winds and 28F. he is really a dedicated worker. today it is probably covered with snow. the light rain was freezing on my windshield, but not the bridges over 4600 miles this time. I went to see the newly purchased home of a relative in Santa Clarita,CA. the following day he took a video of grass burning near his home on the hill behind his house. luckily the wins shifted preventing the fire reaching his home today, I was taking care of Bodie and I put some more hay in his doghouse. I forgot to put the section of roof back on. he went over and stood inside looking at me. like did you forget something? did you see the forecasted temperature for Rawlings, Wyoming is 20 below F

Very cool shot of the dunes, Richard. Sounds like quite a trip - you covered a bunch of terrirtory. Glad your relative's house wasn't damaged by the fires. That must be awful to go through.

I'm glad it was a little warmer in Rawlins when we went through there.

That's a lot of sand and a lot of traveling. I hope everyone stays safe in the fires. Welcome back!

I so admire all the trips you take, and how you always shoot everything you see. Welcome back---your absence was definitely felt. This pic bursts out in oranges: It's an eye-popper. Love that deep hue, and those great ripples in the sand. And the straight road in front, which roots the pice. A real eye-stopper.
