Pencils. My niece and her dog. This is pretty far from my usual style, but I remember first seeing the scene and taking a photo because I thought the family would love it. Then I looked at it some more and was just shocked by the shapes and how the furniture seemed to frame them. Also, the expression on her face was really very special, and I felt compelled to draw them as a gift for the family. I shared WIPs with my brother and his wife while working on this. I had changed a few things from the photo, and was surprised and delighted when they asked me to stray even further from the reference.
