Description

Poor Zlata so wants Mr. Buck to take her to see the fireworks tomorrow. The girls said no way were they going, not good for animals out there. Mr. Buck, bless him, pretended to be asleep. He really didn't think Zlata would like all the bangs & they may frighten her. Afraid I am a November 5th BAH HUMBUG!!!! Thanks for the lovely comments, so appreciated. x

Well, Sainsbury's have banned all fireworks and presumably everything else associated with Guy Fawkes! Apparently, he fell from the scaffold when being hanged and broke his neck! Talk about a bum steer! Hahahaha! Happily, or otherwise, Morrison's seem intent on celebrating Fireworks night at any cost (Allegedly) I was a bit "Bah Humbug myself earlier today! I'm so glad people are turning away from all these pointless traditions! I'm also glad that Mc Donald's no longer have "posh" Burgers on their menu! Apparently, no one wanted a "posh" burger! Perhaps, it was all the stories kiddies heard at primary school, that Mc Donald's were made of cardboard!

I lived in the UK as a child and my mother would always round up our cat an put her in her cat carrier.
June 23rd is known as bonfire night in Ireland.
It's a tradition carried on from the pagan midsummer festival - which was then moved to become St Johns Eve when the Catholic Church hijacked all the pagan festivals for themselves. 
Fireworks are illegal without a license here and yet it didn't stop the neighborhood being disturbed by hours of bright flashes and loud bangs  
I suppose if governments can’t keep drugs or guns off the street they have no better chance with fireworks.

Another fun Zlata scene :)

Here in the States only two nights are celebrated with fireworks--the 4th of July and New Year's Eve. I rather like them, and fortunately none of my furry companions ever were disturbed by them, mainly, I guess, because I never lived in locations that were in the thick of them...Traditions are nice, they keep us grounded, but overdoing something like fireworks just for their own sake, actually distracts, minimizes their true intent.
