He met her again, when she was 14, not quite 15. She and Grace, Eli's daughter, had just come back home from four years of training in martial arts with Xian Feng. "Glory will be here the rest of the summer," Eli said. "Do you remember my little niece, Glory?" "Yeah, I remember her. She was about this tall and now she's maybe twice that. And she ate all my french fries," Djinn laughed. Glory stood there and looked at him funny for a long moment and then burst into giggles. She was adorable. And so young. Too young still. "Julie's fixing dinner. Why don't you and Glory go for a walk - catch up with one another," Eli suggested. "You can tell her what you've been up to, and visa-versa. Why don't you show him around, Glory?" "Sure," she smiled, taking him by the hand. "So WHAT have you been up to, dear Djinn?" Her fingers laced through his as she led him down the stairs and through the kitchen, and a peaceful euphoria overtook him.
