wow...fans like Rod and others would understand what we're looking at a lot more than I do, but as a picture, it's this long sweep of jutting forms, all kinds of metal stuff (fence, railings, I don't know what) with plane segments, and a big sterling body of water, with a harbor in back...It's just fascinating, and wonderful to see for all the visual lines and visual collisions. One really feels this, full size. Even though this is just a snippet of the Midway, you really get a feeling for how monumental these ships were/are...

I think ikke is right.. I thought depth charges just looked like a barrel or drum, but then I've never been on a battleship or carrier, either.. 😁 Cool shot, nevertheless, Richard.

Great shot. Those are life rafts. Carriers don't get close enough to enemy subs to drop depth charges on them.
