Description
Playing around with the free version of Terragen 4 and Poser, as I refuse to pay those crooks at Vue who, imho, never updated their software to run properly (on a Mac) before selling out to Bentley, and who do not seem to offer any recourse to use purchased Vobs.
On first exposure, Terragen's seems difficult to use, but by going through a few of the tutorials out there for a day gets you moving about fairly quickly I think.
Anyway, desert background and sky produced in Terragen 4 with max render of 1200 x 900 and little scope to improve the quality — so will be buying the Creative versions shortly I think.
Large stone produced in Silo and Zbrush and imported into T4
Stone texture produced in Filter Forge
Camel loads produced in Silo and largely textured in Zbrush
V4 skin is RMLecretia by RebelMommy (I think)
Cloth textures are PD_Oriental Mats
Bow and quiver from CelticArcher now no longer available
Dress is 3D-Age Primitive Tribe
Arm and leg coverings are from Summoner by Danie
All placed in Poser Pro 11 and rendered rather than T4 as the object manipulation is absolute though numbers rather than a gizmo and so takes time. Resolution is quite low I'm afraid.
Platform:
MacBookAir6,2 i7, 2core 1processor, 8GBram

Looks like the caravan leader has some coin in his pocket to afford such a top level guard...

Wonderful scene... I love the light and feeling to this. Terragen is a great software... though I have to say I only really used one of the earlier versions. The sky is also just perfect.

stunning render and a fantastic out fit, I agree that the sellers of vue dont offer any vobs for sale and not even possible to purchase the plants available for the higher end versions either , for me now I get most of my stuff from quixel megascans which works well in vue creator and theyve dropped their prices and increased the points you get as well to boot. The rest of my objects tend to come from places like turbosquid and cgtrader
