I wonder how many millions of dollars each year are spent repairing new car's paint from grafiti spray. newer box cars for cars have less opening

I'm sure it's quite a bit of money. I probably should have saved my comment about new cars as graffiti canvasses for this piece.
(Admittedly, that "Instagrab" done in that font style is nifty -- but regardless! It's still vandalism.)

Far too many rattle cans used in the harming of this poor rail car!

Railroads don't usually paint over graffiti except where it covers the legally required reporting marks, so it doesn't actually cost them very much. It just makes the cars look ugly.

Yet had one been done by Banksy would they call it so or be keen to wash it off?

Shining shot.

it is going to happen so they would be better putting up a proper canvas and inviting people to do their art on them... offering prizes would be cheaper than cleaning them up all the time

I just wonder how these people manage to avoid the RR police long enough to paint this stuff. Either that, or they can run really fast and spray paint at the same time.. 😆
Those are actually railcars for hauling automobiles, so I think Richard meant how much paint gets on the new automobiles inside..
