Description
Amphithéâtre romain, classé monument historique depuis 1840, le Palais Gallien (en haut) est à Bordeaux le seul vestige encore visible de l'antique Burdigala gallo-romaine. Il n'en reste aujourd'hui qu'une porte monumentale et des amorces des murs elliptiques qui supportaient les gradins de bois de la cavea orientale.
