Description

This is something I started many many months ago but never finished. I'd thought I'd post it here as a Work in Progress. I am currently underway with completing the image though. The immense Base Stars dwarf the Death Stars orbiting them. The Death Stars act as Anti-Gravity repulsors shielding the construction site from the intense gravity the giant gas planet is creating. What a perfect spot to build things in secret!

Get Lucas on the phone, what a nifty idea--Mega Death Stars! I would suggest the textures on these monsters were less pronounced to help give them their size.

Good idea I'll try and incorporate that change in the final draft.

I knew you wouldn't resist! Welcome back! The next step would be to use an entire planet as a base!!! ;) Nice work!

Excellent work, the image is very well done. Now how the heck do you move them once they're completed??

Well like the normal Death Stars it has engines too. It can't do Hyperspace but it can move at a pretty good pace.

Has anyone done a study to determine how many planet's economies one of these would consume? Once you get above a certain size it would probably be more efficient to retrofit a planet. Just a thought...

Well think of it this way, it's a long term investment. After several decades these could pay for themselves. Have you thought about how much revenue these could generate in extortion funds with them parked in your Solar System. And that's not counting the many vessels and stations these things could usurp from others and then sold. But once brought into service all it's functions provide all that is needed onboard. Lol I should write a "serious" proposal sheet as if I was turning this into the Emporer himself.

Hmm. Cool. Just as a note, in Battlestar Galactica, the Cylon equivalents of Death Stars were called Basestars.

Excellent work !! I vote for it. An addition, it may look better if you add a few galaxy clouds and nebulas. So that the farest deathstars may be seen that way. They seem a bit lost in the blackness of space.

You should call the larger ones Empire Globes instead of Base Stars. Either way, this is great! How about a Sun Crusher next?
