Description
Venturing out into nodes with this simple and only partially there render using the fake stone shader.
Quite a learning path, though Terragen tries its best to 'help' the uninitiated.
The Planetside forum is very helpful too, but slightly pitched at a level above users who have only played with it for a few weeks.
The low res version of this took 15mins to render.
This version took 4.5 hours on my machine, see below, and it is only a couple of grades above the standard micropoly detail setting of 0.5 and anti-aliasing of 3.
The realism, although lacking 'proper wet stones', and 'associated reflections' looks promising however and I was fortunate enough to make a lucky mistake with a water shader and so not have to plonk in a lake.
The stones use a couple of rock textures made in FilerForge.
Next step is to place in a Poser figure and see how this renders, though early indications are T4 is as unkind to skin textures as Vue 11 was, so the trick will be to see if you can micromanage the object textures to better suit the T render engine. It would be amazing if you can, but I've seen few skin close-ups in T4 and its own blurb professes it to be "not ideal" for rendering alien objects...
We shall see however.

What an amazing image and what I thought of as a photo. It is great for scifi renders with the main character gazing at her surroundings as an unconquered soil.
