One week ago, a friend of mine warned me that a vendor was selling another 2CV on RR.
I immediatly found many similitaries between this model and mine.
The more I looked at this model, the more I was convinced that most of the model was mainly mine : same errors, same faults, same particularities.
I wrote an email to the vendor, who answered this :
I made it with a friend girl who had modelized it around 10 years ago. When I saw your product, I bought it and it is true that it is partly inspired.
But it is not the same. I am against piracy, because I have been a victim of that many times and that I have had too much "loss of income" when I saw identical products on the market.
Believe me but I have worked on this product. When I have closely looked at your product and at others at Turbosquid, I have seen errors that I have repared.
I do that in Cinema4D and my friend, at that time, was working with Blender. I don't know what to say you, and I am sorry that you could think that this is the same model.
I shall not enter in a controversy that had not to be. And I don't want to create troubles between vendors.
I am a fan of you work since a long time,and I respect too much the work of other people to waste my time stealing models that are not mine.
When I asked him his OBJ meshes to compare the both meshes he did not answer.
So, I have had to buy his model and I exported the OBJ meshes from Daz into my modeling software, Amapi, and I have juxtaposed the both models.
I have immediatly get the confirmation that the main meshes were EXACTLY the same, with very minor modifications.
Polygons and edges were the same at the same place! A model made 10 years earlier? IT'S A MIRACLE!
I have exported the meshes into Poser and made some images.
I sent him images to show him that his model was mainly based on mine, but his answer was the same: he had his model in his computer for a long time and he did not made it himself.
He wrote again that he did not want troubles between vendors on RR and he did not understand my anger.
Of course, as he was very conciliatory, he will stop selling his model to avoid rivality between vendors. LOL!
It is VERY STRANGE that the same errors, the same meshes, the same particularities, the same parts have been made many years ago by someone - the vendor wrote me that he has lost this contact - in Blender than the model that I have made in april 2019 in Amapi!
It's a pity that I could not meet this modeler who can gess 10 years before me what my models will be. I could avoid hundreds hours of work on a model!

Je dois dire que j'ai été choqué quand j'ai vu ce modèle en vente ici...inutile de dire que je ne l'ai pas acheté ! Compte tenu des éléments que tu donnes et que nous pouvons juger, il y aurait matière à action ! Je crois que la seule solution est de demander une compensation avec l'arbitrage de Rendo et que nous, acheteurs potentiels, nous boycottions, au moins pour un temps, cet indélicat !

The most funny is the emails of this crook! Who can pretend again and again, even with the proofs in front of his eyes, that a model made 10 years ago is EXACTLY THE SAME than a model made in 2019? Errare humanum est, perseverare...stupidum! If this guy had written that he made a stupid error using my meshes, that he was sorry and that he will never "steal" a model in the future, I should have been conciliatory. But writing this was too much: I am against piracy, because I have been a victim of that many times and that I have had too much "loss of income" when I saw identical products on the market. Of course I shall not be accommodating now, because I am against piracy too. We both agree with that!

At least you seem not to have lost your humour putting this under Surrealism.
I bought the product and if I had to comment it it works flawlessly in DS without adjustments, which you recommend for your original (the reason for buying it).

My product is a character with ERC dials; "his" product is only a prop. Is the money earned by this vendor with the Daz model very fair?

OK, c'est un sale coup ça... et une sacré mauvaise foi en prime. Tu as checké sur le Squid qu'il n'est pas eu d'autres "prémonitions" du même genre ? Ce qui est marrant c'est qu'il ait pensé que tu t'en rendrais pas compte.

Si ça peut te rassurer (ou t’énerver un peu plus), personnellement j'ai trouvé certains de mes modèles gratos en vente par des péquins sur d'autres sites. Ceci dit je ne t'ai rien piqué pour ma deuch.... d'ailleurs elle est bien plus belle que la tienne.... nanèreu. ;-)

Je trouve en effet que vendre des modèles gratuits - il y en a ici sur RR - est vraiment "gonflé". Par contre j'ai déjà trouvé plusieurs de mes modèles en vente ou gratuits sur d'autres sites. Dans ce cas précis, ce qui m'énerve, c'est que c'est :

Just going through the store looking at the black friday deals, and came across the copy, looks like they have no intention of taking it down, Think renderosity should do something about this as this is wrong, hope this gets sorted out for you.

Y a pas photo: la violation des droits d'auteur, la contrefaçon et le piratage gangrènent les créateurs et artistes qui passent du temps à sortir et créer du rêve et de la beauté. Et après ce sont les mêmes vautours qui se mettent en valeur sur le dos des autres, ruinés ou démoralisés...Il ne faut pas lâcher le morceau et revendiquer tes créations! Je pense et j'espère que les modérateurs et l'administration du site sont clairs sur ce point. Courage! Vent debout !

C'est vraiment triste de devoir dépenser de l'énergie à se battre pour faire reconnaitre ses droits, mais quelquefois, il n'y a pas d'autre solution! Alors courage!

Alain, I have downloaded this image and gone over it a number of times. I strongly believe this is the same model as yours with some very small modifications in some areas to make a few things appear different. When I first saw this model in the store one thing that stood out were the different seats which I can now see the frame has been cut back to accommodate. I had no intention of buying this model before as yours is a fantastic model but the damage is done as I would buy nothing from this vendor either.

Just saw this. It makes me furious. I know how much time and effort you put into your models and how much skill it takes. Hope this is straightened out by now.....
