During my holidays in September, I visited the city of Blois, but not its castle. I will post some pictures of a church and the city.
The church of Saint-Nicolas de Blois is originally the abbey church of a monastery built in the twelfth century. The choir, the transept and the first span of the nave are built from 1138 to 1186. The church was completed at the beginning of the 13th century.The church is in the Middle Ages an important place of pilgrimage. It houses several relics: Saint Lubin, Saint Laumer, St. Mary the Egyptian and a fragment of the cross of Christ.
Pendant mes vacances en septembre,j'ai fait une visite de la ville de Blois, mais pas de son château. Je vais poster quelques photos d'une église et de la ville.
L'église Saint-Nicolas de Blois est à l'origine l'église abbatiale d'un monastère construit au XIIe siècle. Le chœur, le transept et la première travée de la nef sont construits de 1138 à 1186. L'église est terminée au début du XIIIe siècle. L'église est au Moyen-Âge un lieu important de pèlerinage. Elle abrite en effet plusieurs reliques : Saint Lubin, Saint Laumer, Sainte Marie l'Égyptienne et un fragment de la croix du Christ.

La vue est très belle sur cette superbe façade aux toits très pointus, et aux intéressants détails, les rosaces, les arcades, la grande porte......magnifique prise de vue, difficile car peu de recul, Jean-Claude !

Nice capture, J_C...Do like the little window on the right side's steeple...seems each church has a piece of the "cross" which probably would make a whole tree if all were combined :)

I was about 30 years ago in Blois, we drove by motorcycle along the Loire. A very nice little town. Beautiful shot,awakens memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
