Description

I have never been one all that entranced with the Christmas season: it starts too early, drags on too long, and results in... well, perhaps we shouldnt discuss what it results in. :-) I have many friends who cannot wait for the first of November and then spend days — if not weeks — decorating and baking and fussing about, and good on them if it makes them happy. But, although I'm content to let others enjoy it to some mad extreme, Christmas simply isnt my thing. That said, there are things about the holiday — and the many others that come along at the same time — that I would be hardpressed to ignore. Friendship. Family. Making new friends at parties that, amazingly, turn into very good friends for the following year. A realization that we all made it through another year, and sometimes that's enough. All of this is leading up to the annual DnR Christmas story. This year, it wont be the usual full-blown extravaganza, but something quieter, more focused on Things That Matter in the Holiday Season.... well, things that matter to me anyway. I may kick it off this evening, but understand that, as with everything, it may change course halfway through and include a kick line of Rockettes dressed as elves... although I wouldnt count on that too much. Still, I hope you enjoy it.
