The attack was prepared. During the night the pirates had come ashore -unnoticed by the small British garrison protecting the city. Covered by darkness they sneaked forward, using every little bit of cover provided by the rocky shore. Gianni was ahead of the raiding party, known to be the best fighter among the crew. Suddenly he noticed a British patrol coming along. Omly two soldiers, but enough to warn the whole garrison once they were not silenced. With a simple gesture Gianni ordered his shipmates to stay calm. He would take care of the soldiers himself. Patiently he waited for the patrol to come closer. He could hear them talk carelessly. When the soldiers were close enough, Gianni jumped out of his cover like the devil himself. His sabre cut down the first soldier before the man even realised him. The eyes of the second soldier widened in horror, but a quick kick to the head hit him hard before he could give any alarm. He didn't even feel the steel to silence him forever.
