Description

Rambutan is a tree mostly in the Orient. it produces an edible fruit, but the hairy stuff and skin must be removed. I tried it and I could barely sense any taste

Richard, this is a very cool capture and I'm glad you took the time to give an explanation of it.

Not seen a proper rambutan since Singapore, where I used to eat them by the bunch when I was a child! Lychees are not dissimilar but there again you could only find them in tins which was never ideal!

I remember a very similar fruit when I was stationed in Thailand. Our 'house girl' used to bring them with her lunch. She gave me some, and showed me how to peel them. I remember they tasted a lot like a Concord grape.

Cool shot of this colorful fruit!
