Alan Dean Foster (born November 18, 1946 in New York City) is the author of science fiction and fantasy novels, but is best known for his novel versions of well-known films. Foster's first as well as his second novel belong to the stories about Pip and Flinx. The adventures of Philipp Lynx. Flinx is an empathetic young man named Philip Lynx called "Flinx" by his friends, has a special companion: a highly poisonous miniature dragon,which he calls Pip. Pip's poison is the deadliest in the galaxy, and everyone fears it, so he becomes the protector of Flix. The most well-known of Foster's fantasy novels is the spellsinger cycle, the story of a law student who is placed in a parallel world.
