Red ruffed lemur (Varecia rubra) is a lemurate primate of the lemur family. Its range is restricted to the Masoala peninsula on the east coast of Madagascar. Sa posture décontractée, et son visage tout noir aux yeux à demi fermés, donnent à ce bel animal un aspect anthropomorphe.......c'est une magnifique photo animalière prise au bon moment, Jean-Claude !

Wonderful capture of this strange, interesting looking creature, J_C--sort of a mixture of feline and prosimian....unfortunately they, like most lemurs, are critically endangered--not only is their habitat is being destroyed by humans, they are killed for food or are captured to be sold as pets--no big surprise there. Humans can be such a thoughtless creature...Love his big fluffy tail :)
