Description
Hello friends, hope you all are now fresh and full of motivation for a new decade!
I send you a view from a bad weather day, after cooking for family and guest over Christmas and New Year I had a free day just for me, I was in the mood for some wonderful sunny and snowy photographs higher up in the Alpes but when I was on the way I have seen it won't work because of clouds and rain....
so I did some pictures and a long walk along a pond near our home... it was fogy, cloudy, wet - so you have seen the title - Tristesse...
don't worry I am perfect ok :-)

Priska, if this is what you do on a "bad" day, I can't imagine what you'd do on a good day! This is gorgeous. You captured perfect definition in the foreground---those silhouetted branches are sharp and articulate, and they 'frame' the image. But then the rest of the image opens into infinity. Beautiful mist and soft outlines in the background. And a sense of deep repose. This is an "inward" image, and it calls us to solitude and peace. It's not easy to compose an image that is doused in mist...but you composed this beautifully, with lots of open-expanse (of water) in the middle. Beautiful!
(You called this Tristesse...it has sadness and melancholy, yes. But it also has peace. And maybe that means that sadness is only a veil for inner peace. Chopin wrote an Etude which is popularly called "Tristesse," and it evokes the same feelings as this image: It feels sad on the surface, but it has great inner peace in its heart and soul. If you don't know it, and want to hear it, here's a link ((Lang Lang, in concert)): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yjnLmv1hHU)
