Description

This would be another addition to my larger sized formats for my ballet/ballerina Series doodles I had had shared on Instagram. In search of the files on my archives I have found that I have actually furthered the image post sharing it. But this form of it literally looks more appealing than the later mentioned. So for another date I shall try to complete this pose and share it as well. The original Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/u92N9qHtKy/

I have enjoyed the series, mostly as a way to express the poses and movement in the dance. You seem to think of them as anatomical studies, but I find the anatomy much less appealing than the expressive energy. This drawing in particular seems almost like a gesture drawing, virtually abandoning the dancer altogether in favor of the dance itself. You describe it as unfinished, but I think it is my favorite so far precisely for this reason.

Such comments as these are simply priceless and I can't thank you enough for your time and your input!

In a way: yes.. they were such as to improve anatomy in structural fomation but as you have so generously complimented: They were more gesture oriented as it is the dance that I am in love with. There is something in it... in the way the pose/posture and elegance are all dynamically witnessed that it is something even a video camera can not always correctly depict (Or at least how I choose to see it when watching a recital) which makes it a physical composition I fail to relate in any other such expressive activity... Possibly a human controled rendition can better present what emotions one can feel while watching that a beautiful dance... Such as painting or sculpture.

I am not saying (and I believe that I can not say) that I am capable of such. But this doodle was of those that actually had most my efforts on capturing the dynamism with every stroke that makes it... As I have tried to force a balance or a strain or other factors of a dancers daily routine that should be immortalized but can not since it is a feeling you feel rather than describe.

As of the first moment I have shared this image: I had always hoped so much to read words as those of yours... And had thought that I simply failed to give any of it across... Which is possibly still the case. But you are just very sensative and deductive pretty much tuned to how I would hope for a spectator to be.

As for the "finished" bit... it has been 5 years since this piece is what it is now before you. And since then... I have not been able to go a step further. Hence It appears that we are in the same side on thinking that the image is as is: complete.

Thank you AGAIN for your kind words and your thoughts on the drawing. They mean so much to me.
