Description

the people that was living on Taal island where the Taal Volcano is (8,000+) were desperate to make a living for their families. they plant crops and raised animals. now the entire Taal Island is covered in lava flow and powder from the eruption. the authorities are denying entry back to the island. they have managed to get some of the horses by boats and trying to sell for very cheap prices. I would not bet on the horses surviving their lungs full of dust

This is gorgeous scenery.

I hope the horses recover somehow. It's sad to hear about the people and animals affected by that volcano.

Beautiful shot of this formation, Richard! Utah has such a rugged beauty.

I don't think those horses will be around long, either.. Very sad situation for all.

(skipping just to get a variety) Yes, some of these volcanoes are so dangerous...I hope no one gets in the path of any of them if they explode.

This pic is another of your big, generous, beautifully detailed portraits of nature. You have an equanimity in your work, as if no detail is less important than any other detail, in what you shoot; and this is a perfect example. A must-see, full size; it's big and beautiful, and so beautifully detailed. And the way you caught this bold peak---which presents itself as if to show off---brings out its beautiful hues and craggy surfaces. Beautiful shot, Richard.
