Description

Well, F-89J Scorpion in Alaska in the 50ies. Scorpion was build to protect North America from Soviet bombers. To do it's job it used Mighty Mouse rockets and Falcon missiles. Scorpion had not to be agile, because bombers were not agile. So it was useful against bombers only. It was the first aircraft in US history to use air to air missiles.

Car and aircraft design of the fifties will always be special to me. It was a time with no-holes-barred innovation and some great looking vehicles. It was a great time in which to grow up! Love your F-89! 😁

Nice one. The "Scorpion" was a great name for this aircraft. At the time that I first saw it in the 50's, I thought it was one amazing airplane. I remember building the Revell plastic model as well.
