Description
I know, this is bleak and bleached, but it's what my lake looks like now...What's amazing is that, a hundred feet behind where you're looking, there's a massive wall of high rises, a huge multi-lane road with tons of cars...and, a few blocks from there---within a glance---a massive number of high-end shops, upper crust condominiums, fancy restaurants, the 'jet set', et al. The miracle of the lake is that, a few steps off this crammed city, you suddenly enter the arctic wilderness...Just a mood piece, a snapshot of some of the tranquility and emptiness of our huge midwestern winter...(better when seen large)
Just wanted to say hi...I'm here on and off, but I'm getting to you all! I hope you're having a good weekend, and I wish you all health, wellness and warmth. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fine night, mark

Such a wonderful capture...I feel the quiet, the cold, the clean air of a winter snow storm...just viewing this scene, a sense of calm washes over me...thanks for sharing.

Looks so uninhibited at this TOY Mark. Sure is a frigid feeling day you captured very well. Now I need to start the fireplace. Fairly cold here also.
Thanks for sharing your works my friend. God bless and take care of yourself.

Well done. A stunning shot of a winter landscape.

This is stunning and yet bleak. And I think it is perfect! Have a good weekend. And thanks again for that wonderful story.

What a great image here, Mark. One would think it was taken in the arctic somewhere, or even on an expanse of midwestern prairie rather than a few steps from a major city. I've heard horror stories about winters up there with all those lakes that are bigger than some countries. Brrrrr….
But you really captured the desolate beauty of the season, buddy. Really well done!

This is beautiful. The simpleness is it's elegance. The beaten and worn fencing looks like it's tired of holding back the winter. The line of water adds movement and the tree peeking around the corner adds the promise of warmer days to come. The fact that there are hidden civilizations behind the whiteness is mysterious and dreamy and it hints at an unknown horizon/future. This has classic colors and light; it belongs in a Fine Art Museum.

I love this. I've always liked the winter and its endless stillness, like the world is taking a breath and everyone is waiting for something to happen.

endless cold and serene and looks like a painting - well done with lighting and toning!

A simple but stellar capture of this frigid scene, Mark. Difficult to believe there lies a bevy of busy humanity way out there beyond that white curtain.

I love it a lot my friend 💛💛💛💛💛💛

Mark, this most certainly is a stunning capture. After reading what you said about the area just behind it provides a marvelous contrast with what you come in contact with in your city.
