Description

Hello Rendosians ! Natchez is the name of this nice paddle boat cruising on the Mississippi river. I was so delighted to see one of these boats as I grew up with Tom Sawyer's story (it was a great cartoon broadcast on french channels). I read Mark Twain's book and I liked it very much. The capture was made last summer in New Orleans, from the bank of the Mississippi. I recall it was so hot and the air was so humid that my camera's lenses were foggy for a few minutes ! Since that capture, I've learned that the Natchez were a tribe of Native Americans and also the name of a city in Louisiana ! Thanks for the click, the view and the comment if you have time! Qui n'a pas soupiré à l'évocation des noms de ces bateaux transportant plus que des touristes : des rêves ! Une bien belle photo qui fait du bien par ces temps un peu sinistres.

A la vue d'un tel bateau, on se prend à rêver à des horizons lointains et chauds, plus exaltants que les journées d'hiver ici bas ! Une très belle photo, cadrage carte postale impecc', avec des souvenirs certainement inoubliables pour toi de ton été américain. Chapeau l'artiste !

It rides very low in the water. I didn’t know paddle-wheel boats were so large. I wonder if this is one of those Louisiana gambling paddle-boats - ? Thanks for sharing the pic and info!!
